There was a new release from the WordPress technicians that the beta testing of the new version of WordPress 2.9 will begin soon. Various businesses and IT professionals are invited to test the new version of WordPress to eradicate the bugs, if any.
Let’s come back to the main question whether or not WordPress is a secured choice for web hosting.
Essentially, the zeal of the technicians to offer up their latest version of their product for such a vigorous testing in itself is a sign of their commitment towards quality.
As per Peter Westwood from the firm, he says that the whole process is to focus on the stabilization of the new version and its features along with the removal of existing bugs. He also said that that the testing will help to ensure that 2.9 is as “bug-free as possible”, complemented with special “bug-hunt days” where WordPress developers will be available to help track down and fix problems that continue to occur.
Matt Mullenweg in a separate post on the WordPress site blog says that the underlined commitment of the WordPress community is to keep the businesses set up on a safe and secure system. He added that firms taking advantage of WordPress web hosting are serviced by a community of “hundreds of people that read the code every day, audit it, [and] update it”.
Beside this he also says that he is not a clairvoyant so cannot predict in what form or what direction the next threat will emerge. “But I do know for certain that as long as WordPress is around we’ll do everything in our power to make sure the software is safe,” Mr Mullenweg explained.
Falling short of clairvoyance, businesses are frequently offered upgrades and there is a minute by minute update provided by the code to support their blogs and website templates. This doesn’t look significant support provided while looking at the threats around when compared to up gradations.
